At Mentor Sports, we use state of the art technology to engineer our products. Our advanced CAD/CAM system allows us to design, analyze, and enhance our products from concept to fabrication of prototypes to final production. Before a single piece of metal is cast, forged, or milled, we are able to calculate the weight, center of gravity, and moment of inertia of a design for a wide-array of candidate materials. This allows us to not only alter and refine the geometry of a design, but also select the combination of metals and synthetics to produce the most desirable characteristics before we put tool to material. We believe that premium golf equipment should be a product of engineering--not a product of a shop project.

Open Accessory Mounting System
|
"Open Accessory Mounting System" (OAMSTM) is the key technology behind the weight adjustability of V-MOI Series putters. While other golf equipment manufacturers have developed products for weight adjustability, almost all of them utilize some proprietary mechanism for the insertion of the weights. In most cases, the weights themselves are threaded and require the entire component to be screwed into the body of the club.
The philosophy behind the patent-pending OAMS technology is to utilize as simple a geometry as possible for the component that is to be inserted into the club. In the case of V-MOI putters, the inserted components are a simple cylinder in form. The components are held in place by friction, so they can be removed and replaced in a matter of seconds. Because this system is open, any component having the standard cylindrical geometry and size can be mounted to a V-MOI putter. With an open standard such as OAMS, our goal is to encourage the development of future third-party products such as training aids or club-fitting tools that can be used with our V-MOI Series putters.
